Paid time off for Antenatal classes

Did you know you are entitled to time off work, fully paid, for antenatal care, which not only includes medical examinations, but also includes antenatal classes, including relaxation and birth preparation classes?
You do however need to get this time off agreed in advance by your employer, who may ask to have written proof that these classes are recommended. Your midwife, doctor or health visitor is able to give this written proof, so go ahead and ask, most will be willing to recommend relaxation and birth preparation classes along side your antenatal care.
As the father of the baby, you are entitled to unpaid time off for two antenatal appointments.
